How are you? We pay attention to city council meetings all year long and we definitely want everybody to be involved with that. We need people to attend these meetings, take notes and share our message with other people. You know, if somebody is going to a city council meeting, they are already civically engaged to some extent. And when you go, you’ll be civically engaged to some extent too. So this part of the campaign is all about taking a field trip to city council. We match up with their calendar, we’re there when it matters most, and we also give you some resources.

Under this video you will find some cards and QR codes that you can use to share information with others. While you’re there, you have a conversation, you pull it up on your phone, somebody can scan and they can become a member pretty easy. City council meetings are very eye opening and what you find there are regular people with very reasonable issues that are being completely ignored. Honestly, just even attending one of these meetings and hearing what people are going through in Atlanta is going to radicalize you.

It is a very powerful experience. It shows you the struggles that people are facing and how people in power are failing them. So in order to take one of these trips and you know it’s safe to go by yourself, relatively speaking, it’s in the middle of town. But in order to take this from a mobilization to something that is like more concrete, we organize on signal and discord and we really recommend you go on signal. You go into the community signal, you start a group chat and you tell people that you’re going. And that makes it easier for you to communicate and share updates and mobilize.
